What’s in a Blog Name?

Last week Julie posted about how she came up with her blog name, and I thought it was such a great idea!  I loved learning more about her and reading all of the comments on how people came up with their blog names.

I had read blogs for a looong time before I started one.  I never “followed” the blogs with GFC or BlogLovin, I just had them booked marked on my iPad and read them every morning with my coffee in hand.  I always thought of starting a blog, but feared not having anything to write about and not having anyone who would think my blog was interesting enough to read.

One day, August 15th 2013 to be exact (blogiversary is next week, woot woot!) On a whim, I decided to start one.  For the title, I thought of two things that I felt identified me and my personality the most and that of course was mommy-hood “Kids” and one of my favorite things red wine “Cabernet”.  Ta-da!

How did you come up with your blog’s name?  I’d love to know!

  1. I was the same way when starting my blog. I didn't think I'd have anything to write about but it's actually been pretty fun! I think the more I go the more I find my voice and feel more comfortable writing too. Happy early blogiversary!!<3, Pamelasequinsandseabreezes.blogspot.com

  2. what a great post! definitely doing this.i used to read blogs and never thought i'd be a good writer, or have anything to write about, but that still hasnt stopped me! lol

  3. This is such a good idea for a blog post! Totally adding it to my idea list and perfect for a day when I just don't know where to start. Thanks for linking up at Thoughts for Thursday this week ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I love it! I wasn't sure I'd have anything to talk about or that anyone would care. I love your name! Mine is actually named after my husband. We've been married almost 2 years (December). He kinda rolled his eyes at first but I think it's growing on him!

  5. Woo hoo for your upcoming blogiversary ๐Ÿ™‚ That picture of your kids is precious. Once I decided to start my blog I thought about a name for a little while, MakeMeUpMia just popped in my head one day, I went with it!

  6. Love learning about the idea behind the name of blogs, because I feel like it took me SO LONG to come up with one for mine. I didn't want something stupid that I'd be stuck with. I also wanted to let you know I nominated you for a Liebster Award. There's more info on my post today if you'd like to participate ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Cute blog name…and what a great idea for a short, quick post! I just started my blog this week and I'm definitely going to do this topic! Thanks for the inspiration and happy anniversary! Can't wait until I reach that one year mark! :)http://mylovemarriagebaby.blogspot.com

  8. It's like you read my mind… I never used to follow people on GFC or bloglovin. I would just bookmark the blogs I liked and then check them everyday to see if they had a new post. And then I discovered bloglovin and the rest is history. Haha! But really, it is super helpful. My blog, Chasin' Mason, was actually made up by my friend. I had a different name originally and then in January I wanted to spruce it up and asked her for input and bam. The new name was born…because I'm always chasin' my Mason!

  9. You blog name couldn't be more perfect…love it! And love finding out why people named their blogs the way they did. Mine is Yellow (my favorite color) Mango (always my nickname for my husband – Manganaro is our last name – and fitting when I called Cruz, Little Mango when I was preggo with him) and Life (because I talk all about ours). =)

  10. Love the name of your blog! Kids and Cabernet- what could be better?? My blog name is One Stylish Mom. I feel like style is so much more than heels and great purse, and that style encompases "who" I am, not what I wear..and I'm a mom, so that's what I came up with! Anyway, I enjoyed reading your post!! xoShannon…and I hope I'm not a "no-reply" blogger???? I'm new to this so I don't know??
