Baby Girl – Vintage Nursery Inspiration

Hello!
It has been forever since I’ve posted.  I’m so sorry.  There have been so many changes in our lives, throw in a vacation, home remodel and a hurricane and well I’ve just been living in a whirlwind!  I’ll fill you in on all of our changes soon – all good things, but first I wanted to show you my inspiration for the baby’s nursery.

I want to go with a little bit of a vintage feel.  I love the Jenny Lind DaVinci Crib because it is reminiscent of a vintage crib and you can’t beat the price – under $200!  I want the room to feel airy and soft with a touch of a floral print.  I couldn’t find anything I liked so I worked with Carousel Designs to create my own bedding!  I used their Hawaiian Floral print, a gray and white herringbone print and a pink and white bow print that has a touch of gold (sadly it isn’t on their site anymore).  I’ll share more details about creating my own bedding when I reveal the nursery – it’s still FAR from being done.  But I love that I was able to create exactly what I envisioned.

To stick with the feel I wanted in the room, I found the perfect mirror from Pottery Barn kids their Rectangular Antique Wood Mirror – I’m going to put it above the Hemnes dresser from Ikea.  All of the pieces for the room will be functional and budget friendly.  I want the room to grow with her, but as she grows she is bound to put stickers on her furniture or stain it somehow; pieces that look great but don’t have a huge price-tag are key.  I found a cute lamp from Target that I’ll probably buy as well.  Every nursery needs a lamp!

I’m huge on wall art that say some type of quote.  There are still many things to buy for her wall but so far I’ve fallen in love with this sign from Hobby Lobby.  You can never go wrong with Hobby Lobby!

I need to find a rug to pull some more color into the room and to provide a soft area for her to play on – I’m really liking this one from Target, but I’m still on the hunt.  Another thing on the list is a recliner/glider.  We found one we loved, that is leather at Buy Buy Baby, for some reason they don’t have it online for me to show you.  If you are in the market for one, it is called the Felicia Glider.  It’s so comfortable, easy to sleep in – because you know that’s what is going to happen when you’re up nursing and is a breeze to push the recliner in when you need to get up. It also comes in a ton of colors which is great!

There you have it – there’s still a lot to do, but this is my overall vision.

I promise to share our kitchen with you too – we are STILL waiting on our backsplash to be done, and I refuse to show it before then 😉 so hopefully soon!

  1. SO pretty! I love the IKEA dresser–we have the smaller 3 drawer one because of the room size, but I totally would have gotten that one if it fit in her room. So much storage and it’s such a great furniture piece!
